We live in a post-American Sniper world. A world where it’s all but confirmed that a movie supporting the U.S. troops will make buckets of cash. How could it not? America is the greatest, god-dang country in the world. Michael Bay knows this. That’s why Pearl Harbor did so well. Or that time he made patriotic porn via giant anthropomorphic robots from outer space and stuff? At the very least this movie will make its money back.

You pretty much know what you’re going to get with a Michael Bay movie. Messy politics that make the  Call of Duty games seem tame, lots of over-saturation of color, and camera movements to make the smallest moments feel large in scale. This trailer actually does contain some nice looking Bay imagery. I might be on board for this. This also looks like the entire movie is just the fourth act of Bad Boys 2, so we’ll see how it goes. All I really want is for John Krasinski (also known as Jim from The Office) to look directly at the camera in character from the popular NBC sitcom as the final shot of Bay’s film.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi reimagines the climax of Bad Boys 2 on January 15th, 2016.
