Greetings, readers! Welcome to this week’s clickables! Today, we have some comedy, a curated list from Robert Eggers, and more from WTF with Marc Maron.

  • Many young adults who grew up in the late 1990s and early 2000s may have fond memories of watching the popular Japanese anime series Dragonball Z. What many fans might not remember, or at least not quite as well, is the 2009 American live-action film adaptation of the franchise that all but put the series to bed going into the 2010s. But not all fans of the property have been so lucky, as YouTube movie reviewer Chris Stuckmann can attest to, with all of the flair, outrage, and hyperbole that is to be expected of a fanboy.
  • Not just one, but two seminal filmmaking duos stopped by the Cat Ranch on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast this past week to talk about their latest projects. First up was the team behind the popular Comedy Central program Broad City, namely Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, who discuss their Jewish heritage, cutting their teeth at the United Citizens Brigade theater in New York City, and finally producing their popular web-series for broadcast television.
  • Next, Mark and Jay Duplass make an appearance to discuss their creative process as a filmmaking unit over the years, and talk about why they lack the creative vision and directorial drive of the Coen Brothers, but why working on shows like their current HBO drama Togetherness, in addition to Jay’s recent turn as an actor on the critically acclaimed show Transparent, has resulted in work that is more true to their decided talents and cooperative personal voice.
  • Also, Steve Martin performed stand-up for the first time in 35 years in a surprise appearance at the Jerry Seinfeld Show at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Fans everywhere rejoiced.

Enjoy! Check back next week for more of the best movie stuff from of the rest of the Internet!
