It’s that time of year again. With Star Wars growing and growing with each week bringing more news about future installments, whether to the main series of the spin-off series, we’ve decided to give you five more spin-offs we would like to see get made. If what Disney is seeing is true and this franchise will last forever. then chances are you’ll get to see all these movies get made eventually.

Ahsoka Tano

Warner Bros. Pictures

Ahsoka is a character introduced in The Clone Wars who quickly became a fan favourite. She is the young padawan of Anakin Skywalker who picks up a lot of his bad habits ( the good habits though, not the killing children bad habits). She is so popular 2016 saw the release of a novel about her and she managed to cross over the Rebels TV show too. The Clone Wars are canon, so you could make a movie that shows her training before she meets Anakin or follow on from the fifth season finale when she left the show. Either way, Tano is a cool female character who is smart, vulnerable, and a hero. She had become a great role model for Star Wars fans of any gender and a character who needs to make the jump to the big screen.

Obi-Wan and Anakin

20th Century Fox

If The Clone Wars TV show has taught us anything it’s that a major weakness of the prequels is that the central friendship of Obi-Wan and Anakin isn’t strong enough to carry the emotional weight it needs to. The characters tell us they’re friends, but we never get a chance to see this friendship blossom. An animated spin-off set between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones would fix this by showing a young Anakin going through Jedi training with an inexperienced young master. The plot is unimportant as you can just strand them somewhere for an adventure, but if the filmmakers were able to cement a strong sense that Obi-Wan and Anakin are brothers in arms then when the downfall occurs it would be heartbreaking.

Poe Dameron and Black Squadron

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

Like the first spin-off, this story has been touched on by Marvel’s comics series, but there is still a rich vein to tap with stories about the best pilot in the galaxy and his squad of pilots. If you take the plot of any car chase movie and replace it with spaceships then you’re onto a winner. Fast and Furious style space heists? Yes, please. Long form Fury Road chase through hyperspace? I’ll take tickets. Herbie the Love Bug story about a sentient spaceship who wins races? I went too far, but the first ideas are good. Or it could be set in the early days of the resistance and show how General Leia Organa began gathering together pilots and troops once she could see the First Order on the rise. As long as Oscar Isaac is back in the lead role then it’s all good.

20th Century Fox

My first thought was a Jabba the Hutt movie but considering he is a giant immobile slug that seemed like it wouldn’t make for scintillating cinema. However, the gangster elements of the Star Wars universe are probably about as prominent as the Jedi. There are a variety of different gangs and groups but the ones that we know the best from the movies are the Hutts. The Clone Wars shows that there are five ruling Hutt clans so perhaps a movie in which we follow a character as they go from moisture farmer to kingpin. It can be the anti-Luke Skywalker story so rather than dreaming of joining the rebellion and saving the galaxy we could open with voiceover: “As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a space gangster.”

Jar Jar: A Naboo Musical

20th Century Fox

By the end of Revenge of the Sith Jar Jar Binks is a politician, and do you know what’s hot right now? Political musicals. We follow Jar Jar as he makes his way through the corridors of power vowing that heesa not gonna throw away heesa blaster shot. He comes into conflict with other politicians and finds love before inevitably being killed in duel with every other character in the entire movie. Yep, just write the cheque out to cash and please don’t sue us Lin-Manuel Miranda.
