Weekly Roundup 08/17/2014: Petition to Make Sylvester Stallone Take a Seat, Plus Movie Announcements and Your Fave Tweets of the Week

Weekend at the Box Office Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles retained its box office reign with $28.4 million bringing its domestic total to $117.6 million, which is not bad for a Megan Fox vehicle that’s 6 years past her prime and a bunch of CGI meathead turtles (just kidding, that was snarky of me)! Guardians of the Galaxy is continuing its dominance by coming in at a very respectable 2nd place with $24.7 million over the weekend- most likely making it the highest grossing domestic film of the summer. Let’s Be Cops opened up solid since its Tuesday debut with $26.1...

What We’re Watching: 8/14/2014

Last week, Teaira mentioned she was looking forward to The Hundred-Foot Journey. Well, I saw it last night and loved it! It’s one of those simple, yet exciting movies that comes around every once in awhile that doesn’t rely on heavy special effects and gimmicks – just a pure storyline. Also, Helen Mirren is a powerhouse and I bow down to her every role. Go see it while it’s in theaters! Science Fiction?) but let me tell you: this star-studded flick sure has my attention. This summer’s box office has been somewhat lackluster aside from the occasional blockbuster such as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Anything Chris Pratt does...

Weekly Roundup 7/21/2014: Angelina and Brad Team Up On-Screen and New Avengers Set Photos

Box Office Results Dawn of the Planet of the Apes once again controlled the box office for the second week in a row and raked in $36 million to add to its box office total of $139 million. Apes threw a one-two punch over a trio of new releases including The Purge: Anarchy starring Friday Night Lights’ favorite Panther, Zach Guilford (Sorry Tim Riggins) coming in at $28.3 million and fellow sequel Planes: Fire & Rescue at $18 million. The star-studded Jason Segal, Cameron Diaz R-rated comedy Sex Tape failed to turn on moviegoers earning just $15 million its opening weekend....
