War Room once again exceeded expectations, moving up to the #1 spot with $9,450,000, less than the previous week’s intake of $11, 351,398 but a smaller drop off than Straight Outta Compton. Compton took a 32.6% drop to land in second place with $8,250,000, knocking it down from several weeks at the number one spot in the domestic box office.
A Walk in the Woods opened in third place, just below Compton‘s second spot with $8,250,000.
The Transporter: Refueled ran out of gas disappointing with a disappointing opening in fourth place with $7,220,000. This was the one without Jason Statham, in case people were curious about the movie not garnering audience interest.
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation deservedly hangs on to the top five with $7,180,000.
No Escape continued to trail MI, $5,448,000 million.
Overseas Numbers
Terminator Genisys is back at the #1 spot in the international market with #11.5 million. International gross is now $435.9 million. Wow. Hm.
Jurassic World broke $1 billion internationally.
Breaking Records
In the most disappointing Labor Day box office weekend in years, it’s the only week of the year where not a single movie broke the $10 million slot.
