No Stranger Than Love

Orion Pictures

Orion Pictures

No Stranger Than Love offers a unique twist to the typical rom-com. Lucy (Allison Brie) is constantly bombarded by unwanted pronouncements of love and when she finally thinks she may love someone, a hole opens in her living room floor trapping the receiver of her assertion. Writer Steven Adams presents a good script, given the understandable trepidation elicited by the premise, and it is an excellent companion to Brie and actor Colin Hanks’ performances. The movie takes its idiosyncrasy and subverts genre expectations, ultimately blending several genres into a nice package. No Stranger Than Love is currently available to rent with select cable and satellite providers, Amazon, and iTunes starting at $4.99.
