Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

You know me, you know I’m all about that Star Wars. That’s why it’s 2:30 in the morning here in Australia and I’m sat in the dark in the spare room of my apartment typing this while quietly bouncing up and down with glee because it’s here. Finally. After months of waiting we’ve at last seen footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And it was glorious.

Unlike The Force Awakens or Rogue One, Disney and Lucasfilms made us wait and wait and wait for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser. I guess the first tastes were free and now they’ve got us hooked on new Star Wars, we’re gonna have to work for it. The teaser is a wonderful taste of what’s to come and brings back Rey, Poe, Finn, Luke, Leia, Ren, and the droids. In all honesty, they could have showed me nothing but a desert landscape with a single spaceship in the sky and I would have been reduced to tears, but luckily we get to see shots of Rey’s training, gorgeous cinematography, some space battle action, and a taste of some new planets, vehicles, and secrets.

The panel before the teaser featured Josh Gad chatting with Kathleen Kennedy and director Rian Johnson about the progress of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, what Johnson brings to the franchise, Carrie Fisher’s legacy, and the plethora of photographs Johnson took which I would like in a book for Christmas please and thank you. There were also special appearances by Daisy Ridley, BB-8, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, and Mark Hamill as well as a whole host of questions about Rey’s lineage, the future of the franchise, and whether or not Luke has any dialogue this time. I’ve never been so jealous of a crowd in my life. We’re over two hundred days away from Star Wars: The Last Jedi being in theaters on the 15th of December but the real hype has now begun.
