An intriguing NSFW trailer for the upcoming horror film Found Footage 3D dropped today, showcasing what teases to be the latest in an excellent stretch of meta-aware horror films.

The film seems to follow a group of young filmmakers who aim to film the world’s first 3D found footage film but end up becoming the world’s first 3D found footage film. The movie stars Carter Roy, Alena von Stroheim, Chris O’Brien, Tom Saporito, Scott Allen Perry, Jessica Perrin, and real life, fan favorite film critic Scott Weinberg.

Steven DeGennaro served as the film’s director and produced the film with Charles Mulford and Kim Henkel, who, interestingly enough, was a co-writer on the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre script. For my money, this fright feature will be worth it just for the chance at discovering how these traditional horror minds apply and meta-textually editorialize on two of the most criticized innovations in modern storytelling—3D and found footage (for the last time, ya’ll have to lay off found footage. It’s good.).

Found Footage 3D premieres at Chicago’s Bruce Campbell Horror Film Fest on August 20 and will show at London’s Fright Fest on August 29. For now, you can enjoy the trailer here:
