After teasing big news yesterday, Annapurna pictures today released the first trailer for Katheryn Bigelow’s Detroit, the director’s first film since her smash political thriller Zero Dark Thirty. Detroit, which tells the story of the 1967 Detroit riots, sees the filmmaker pair once again with screenwriter Mark Boal, who wrote Zero Dark Thirty and the Best Picture-winning Hurt Locker, and stars John Boyega of Stars Wars fame.

Detroit is set to open on August 4, 2017. More as it comes, but for now, see the trailer here.
