Monster Fest returns to Melbourne this week for four days of horror, comedy, weirdness, and classics.

Running from November 24th-27th at Lido Cinemas in Hawthorne, Monster Fest 2016 boasts a murderers’ row of classic movies, first time showings, short curiosities, and events.

Movies on this year’s program include Free Fire, Raw, The Greasy Strangler, Prevenge, A Dark Song, and a quad of Ted Kotcheff movies with Split Image, First Blood, Weekend at Bernie’s, and the seminal Wake in Fright. Kotcheff will also be talking about his career in a special masterclass.

Other speakers at the festival include Julia Ducournau (Raw), Elizabeth De Razzo and Sky Elobar (stars of The Greasy Strangler), along with directors Jai Love (Dead Hands Dig Deep), Neil Edwards (Sympathy for the Devil), Mattie Do (Dearest Sister) and many more.

Alongside the feast of movies there are also events like the Nightmare VHS board game party (25th November), the Saturday morning all-you-can-eat cereal cartoon party (26thNovember), and a live radio play: Maxie Diablo and the Funky Funky Sex Murders (27th November).

Visit the Lido box office or the Monster Fest website for tickets where you can get individual tickets as well as day passes and VIP passes.

Also look out for coverage on Audiences Everywhere where our man in Oz will be attending the festival and hopefully living to tell the tale.
