After Monday’s context-less sneak peak, we finally have our full look at the latest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! Right off the bat, the most interesting thing about this trailer is that it finally shows a lighter side of the movie. Skeptics can perhaps rejoice that there are jokes, and a little comic book cheese to go with all of that scowling and existential crises. Some of the dialogue still seems a bit iffy, as does Jesse Eisenberg’s original, albeit unhinged, take on the of Lex Luthor character, but it’s nice to finally hear our key characters engage in conversation, though Wonder Woman unfortunately remains silent. Perhaps the biggest take away other than the humor is confirmation of the long-rumored villain Doomsday who rather infamously killed Superman in the 90s. Batman fighting Superman is fine and all, but if you want to talk about real excitement its the Trinity teamed up against a common foe. The previous trailer was a visual stunner that engaged our basest spectacle-driven interests, but this trailer finally gave us something to smile about.

While much of the film’s plot is still being kept under wraps, the official logline for Batman v Superman is as follows: “Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will come crashing into theaters on March 25th, 2016.
