Hot damn! There’s absolutely nothing not to love about the latest Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation trailer. The first trailer was great, but this one takes up a notch and proves that there’s still plenty of gas left in the tank of this franchise. With its over-saturated colors, use of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” and loads new footage of Ethan Hunt and his IMF team being hunted by assassins, MI: Rogue Nation just became one of the best looking trailers of the year.

Ever since J.J. Abrams became in involved with the third installment, the Mission Impossible series has shaken off its 90’s trappings to become the best big budget, non-superhero, action franchise there is. This is all largely because it’s a series that knows how to have fun and use Tom Cruise in a way that avoids him getting swept up in much of the self-seriousness that consumes so many espionage-centric action movies. It’s pure blockbuster goodness. Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie takes over the directorial chair from Brad Bird this time around, but it looks like he’s sticking close to the imagery and camaraderie that Bird developed in Ghost Protocol. Rouge Nation looks to be one of the best movies of the summer and if you’re not eagerly anticipating this movie, well you’re an impossible case.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation hits July 31st.
