Here’s our second look at the hotly anticpated Spider-Man: Homecoming!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s most successful entries, and it definitely looks like a good time. I’m glad to see a more intimate focus on the chracters and Peter’s journey in this trailer, and I’m hoping that doesn’t get sidelined by too much Iron Man. The inclusion of Tony Stark is cool, it’s the desired benefit of having Spidey join the MCU, but given that Spider-Man and Iron Man currently stand as Marvel’s most popular characters, I’m hoping that the film doesn’t feel like a team-up movie, because I think Spider-Man is always at his best when the odds are against him and he has to teach himself. The concept of Spider-Man being stripped of his Stark povided gadgets and returning to his home-grown hero roots is an appealing challenge. With Michael Keaton as the villanous Vulture and Bokeem Woodbine as the Shocker, the odds are definitely stacked against Spider-Man. Here’s hoping Jon Watts delivers something special with Spider-Man: Homecoming, with a unique creative voice that can stand as one of the best Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters July 7, 2017.
