Following up his 2005 masterpiece Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and blockbuster home run with Iron Man 3, Shane Black goes back to his roots for a rough around the edges type of buddy comedy caper. When talking to People magazine, Black described the movie as follows:

It’s a little fast, a little funny and a little rough in places, kind of coarse. These guys are working-class dudes, they’re not really sophisticated private detectives, so it’s a chance to do the kind of thriller I don’t see too much of anymore.

Every moment in the trailer appears as a classic Shane Black moment, with guys cooler than they think they are, awkward but funny action, and a mystery too big for any of them to understand. Ryan Gosling is one of Hollywood’s dreamboats but he’s also a comedic tour de force, and his crying over the production logos had me rolling. My only nitpick: I only spotted one Christmas tree. Come on, Shane. Stay on brand.

Not much else is known about this one but stay tuned to AE for everything Shane Black.
