Do you ever just get a good feeling about a movie? That slight tingle because you know it’s going to knock your socks off? Every Sicario trailer seems to be doing that for people.
The second trailer for Sicario is more focused on traditional editing, including the use of music to help establish the mood. Thankfully director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Enemy) knows how to capture visuals with his consistently pristine eye for detail. If Villeneuve wasn’t enough, Roger Deakins is back as chief cinematographer, with two teaming up again for the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel.
Here’s the official plot synopsis from Lionsgate:
In Mexico, Sicario means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
Sicario will see limited release in theaters in the U.S. starting on September 18th, 2015, with a subsequent wide release on the 25th.
