Who needs superheroes? Not Universal as they’ve proved with their billion dollar Fast & Furious franchise. Never would we have imagined that The Fast and the Furious would spawn seven sequels, but here we are still watching and loving them. Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray takes over the reins of the franchise in this installment, The Fate of the Furious (formerly, Fast 8) which sees Dominic Toretto and his assortment of miscreants take on both new and old threats on the streets of NY.

The Fate of the Furious has got it all: unexpected villains, unexpected allies, car chases, physics defying insanity, Charlize Theron, gratiuitous shots of beautiful ladies, the Rock hitting two dudes so hard that I nearly vomited, street racing, guns, a submarine, and a terrible line of dialogue with the word family in it.

Once upon a time they stole DVD players, now they’re spies or something. Enjoy.

The Fate of the Furious speeds into theaters in the U.S. on April 14th, 2017.
