Movie I’m Excited to See

It is, yet again, an excruciating week for new releases. I’m not checking out any new releases, although I do plan to checkout Skeleton Twins at some point and that’s getting a limited released this week (wide release on the 19th), so I can talk about it. Skeleton Key is about twins that cheat death on the same day, and look back to see where their lives went wrong. I’m a huge fan of Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig (If you won’t watch Adventureland to see Kristen Stewart act well, please watch it for these two). They’ve always had great chemistry and are often delegated to supporting roles. Now we finally get to see them in the spotlight. I’m sure they’ll make us laugh with some deadpan humor but I’m hoping they can bring just as much to the comedic aspects of it. I’ve always believed that strong comedic actors can also bring their A game to heavier dramatic roles, and I have nothing but high hopes for this one.

Movie I’m Excited to See But Should Have Seen Last Week

I am finally getting a chance to see Wetlands this weekend. For those who don’t know, Wetlands is a German film that tells the story of a girl who has zero concern for proper hygiene. After a rough… let’s just call it a “shaving accident,” she ends up in the hospital. She begins to recount her various sexcapades and raunchy ordeals. It was hailed as the most Not Safe For Work (NSFW) movie at Sundance. The trailer alone had me pretty grossed out but also mildly fascinated. The camera work looks incredible and there’s an energy to the trailer that just can’t be ignored. It opened lasted week but wasn’t available to watch in any theaters near me until this Friday. Wish me luck.
