What We're Watching: 10/02/14

Movie I am Looking Forward to Watching:

Copenhagen

I was not sure what I was watching when I saw the trailer for Copenhagen. I had no preconceived notions, I viewed no other sources of information about the film, I had not heard an opinion about the film at all. It was great. The film is a coming of age, dramatic adventure. What I like is that there is not too much that is revealed, it gives the film the opportunity to tell you the story without divulging everything at once. There is no linear progression, merely snippets of the what is to happen; and no names to connect the faces. In its entirety, the film appears to be indirect in the best way possible.

Movie I am Curious to See:

Left Behind

I read the Left Behind series many years ago. This movie, forgive me for the awful pun about to follow, got left behind. It is slow on the apocalyptic movie scene, there was a surge from 2000 – 2009; Doomsday, The Day After Tomorrow, and The Day the Earth Stood Still to name a few. From there, a mass of zombies invaded our screens. I have wondered why a large scale movie production was not put into place for Left Behind (original from 2000 was a bit of a flop to say the least), hence my curiosity in seeing this movie. If the movie will stay relatively true to the series, which, who am I kidding, the varying character angles will surely be lost in this movie adaptation.
