Movies I am Looking Forward to Watching:

Big Hero 6

Coming to the aid of the city of San Fransokyo, Hiro Hamada with his band of friends–Go Go Tomago, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred– and an inflatable robot, Baymax. Hiro, with his prodigal tech skills, transforms his friends into heroes, collectively called “Big Hero 6”. I am reminded of The Iron Giant, a peaceful robot befriends a young boy whose presence impacts the community, applicable to Big Hero 6. Baymax is cuteness overload waiting to explode: squishy, charmingly naive, and sweet. I will say the names sound incredibly stereotypical to Japanese culture: Hiro, Wasabi, and Tomago; two for three in reference to sushi. Despite that, I’m looking forward to seeing some Asian influence on the screen.

My Prediction: B

To save the human existence, explorers venture out of the safe haven of the Milky Way galaxy seeking out a habitable world. Many movies based in the future, depict Earth escalated to complex technology-centric civilizations; battling in robot warfare, genocide, or big brother himself. Interstellar is different by taking the entire human population elsewhere or at least entertaining the idea of intergalactic space travel as a viable solution. And I am a sucker for stars, so of course I’ll be somewhat interested in this movie.

My Prediction: A
