Last week, Teaira mentioned she was looking forward to The Hundred-Foot Journey. Well, I saw it last night and loved it! It’s one of those simple, yet exciting movies that comes around every once in awhile that doesn’t rely on heavy special effects and gimmicks – just a pure storyline. Also, Helen Mirren is a powerhouse and I bow down to her every role. Go see it while it’s in theaters!
Movie I’m Looking Forward To: The Giver
Okay, some might say this is a total cop out, given my love for young adult book-to-movie adaptations, but I really am excited to see this one y’all. I have been waiting for this one for YEARS. The Giver is very much one of my favorite books with a touching plot, and I think it’s going to thrive on the silver screen, especially with the all-star cast. Although most press is devoted to Taylor Swift joining the team, or even Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, I’ll be anxiously awaiting the on-screen portrayals of Jonas and Fiona – played by relative unknown actors Brenton Thwaites and Odeya Rush.
The Movie I’m Iffy About But Will Probably See: Let’s be Cops
Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. are comedy gold on The New Girl, and usually I tend to shy away from buddy cop comedies, but the trailers for this movie actually look pretty funny! I don’t know if it’s one of those movies I’ll see the first week it hits theaters, but it’s a serious contender for middle-of-the-week movie night. Reviews have been mixed, but haterz always gon’ hate. Amiright?
